Senokot Regular Strength tablets are stimulant laxatives and provide gentle, short term relief from occasional constipation which may be associated with travel, stress, or dietary changes. Senokot can be taken at bedtime and generally helps relieve symptoms in 6-12 hours.
Each tablet contains powdered Alexandrian Senna fruit (pods) (Cassia senna L (C. acutifolia Delile)) and Tinnevelly Senna fruit (pods) (Cassia angustifolia Vahl) equivalent to 7.5mg hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as sennoside B. This medicine also contains calcium phosphate, maize starch, magnesium stearate and lactose monohydrate.
Please ensure this medication is used in line with the manufacturer’s directions.
New users should start with the lowest dose and increase it to the maximum dose if necessary. Once regularity has been regained dosage should be reduced and stopped.
Adults over 18: One to two tablets at bedtime with a drink of water, unless otherwise advised by your doctor.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
This product does not help with weight loss.
Do not use:
If you are allergic to any ingredients contained in this medicine
For longer than 1 week
If pregnant or breastfeeding
If you have kidney or heart failure
If you have bowel condition
If you are taking another laxative and still constipated
Speak to your doctor before using if:
- You are intolerant to some sugars – Contains Lactose.
- You have a medical condition.
- You are taking medicines for the heart.
- You have had any of the following symptoms:
- Stomach pain
- Nausea
-Vomiting
- Noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that continues over a period of 2 weeks.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If you get any side effects, even if not listed, please talk to your doctor. Seek urgent medical attention of you suffer from an allergic reaction.
