Imodium capsules are used to treat acute diarrhoea in adults and children aged 12 years and over. It’s also used treat diarrhoea associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome in adults and children aged 18 years and older.
Loperamide hydrochloride 2mg. Other ingredients: Lactose, maize starch, talc and magnesium stearate (E572), titanium dioxide (E171), black ferrous oxide (E172), yellow ferric oxide (E172), indigo carmine (E132), erythrosine (E127) and gelatin.
Short term diarrhoea, in adults and children aged 12 years and older: take two capsules to start treatment then one capsule after each loose bowel movement.
For IBS diarrhoea, in adults and children aged 18 years and older: take two capsules to start treatment, then one capsule after each loose bowel movement.
Do not take more than six capsules in any 24 hour period.
Do not use if:
•The patient is aged under 12 years (or under 18 for an IBS patient).
•Your diarrhoea has lasted for longer than 48 hours.
•Please consult your pharmacist or doctor before using this medicine if you are currently pregnant, or breastfeeding, taking any other medicines as this may cause an interaction, may be allergic to any of the ingredients contained in this medicine.
